Even if you think you are moving into your home for the next 10-20 years you can sometimes find that you still require additional space and don’t want to hassle of moving again. With an expanding family and the need for more space for children to play and sleep we designed a loft conversion which added a new master bedroom with en-suite and submitted plans into the council for the conversion of the integral garage into a much need play room.

Loft conversion are often classed as permitted development provided certain criteria are met. The same goes for most garage conversions, however in this instance as the property was build 5/6 years ago there was a condition attached to the original planning application that additional planning permission was required for the conversion.

If you have a new build and are concerned that the truss roof structure means that you cannot convert the loft, this house is a perfect example of how you can. With the use of steels and experienced builders (in this instance BLISS Property Services) and a good existing height within the roof space you can add the extra living space.
